Time Out at Thyme Out

Well, it has been awhile but I was busy taking a bit of time out for myself.

While we still had our usual guests coming over for a visit, which is always a delight, I took advantage of the quiet at Thyme Out to enjoy a bit of a retreat for myself.

I had all the comforts of home and the birds were my company for a period of reflection and rejuvenation.

It has been a great journey and I now feel all revved up to go again.

Building bridges

Autumn is slowly creeping in and the nights are getting a little bit colder. Just for the fun of it, we even decided to pop the wood burner on last weekend.

Nothing beats a lovely fire when the rain is pouring down. I had to spare a thought for the farmers who would have been doing a rain dance in celebration.

Constructing the jetty

During the drought, when the pond was at its lowest, Frans and Kevin spent a couple of days constructing a wooden jetty over the pond.

Because we needed to pour in concrete for the posts, the low water level was ideal for us.

Now after a bit more rain, we can start looking for a little dinghy to bob on the water in the winter time.

The finished jetty

Can’t wait!
