Seeds Are for Planting

It is raining and there’s a lot to be happy about. Around this time of year the garden starts to look a bit droopy, so some nice soft rain does a lot of good for the plants and the veggie garden.
Yesterday was a mixed bag of rain and sunshine and I couldn’t help but notice how quickly the rain was evaporating once it hit the warm concrete.
Spare a thought for what the plants will be thinking. Finally there’s a bit of rain but before they have a chance to absorb it, it has evaporated from their roots!
I became away of this dilemma when planting some more coriander and parsley plants in the garden.
While the top layer of soil was nice and dark from the rain, once I dug a little deeper everything else was as dry as a bone.
Not an easy start for the seedlings to grow their root system.
On a philosophical note, sometimes I find planting is a lot like what happens in life.
I cultivate a certain goal and, in order to make sure this idea takes seed, I have to nourish it with fertile soil, water, nutrition and provide a good environment for it to grow.
So when I encounter adverse situations, it’s up to me to find new ways in which to work with the surrounding environment.
Some days it will rain, bringing support, growth and development; while other days it may feel as if I am stuck in the desert with no idea when the next drop of rain will come.
The main objective is to protect the seeds (your ideas and goals) so that when the time and circumstances are right, they will have the chance to blossom.
I guess my advice would be to never stop dreaming, roll up your sleeves and sow the seeds of your life.
