Polar Opposites

Today I found myself reflecting on our life here at Thyme Out. I realised that it has been a good eight months since we first moved in.

And what a amazing experience it has been!

Frans and I have put in a lot of hard work and it is great to see so many things start to fall into place.

Summer has officially begun and we have noticed that the lovely Christmas lillies are opening their eyes to the world.

The roses at the front door are in bloom which makes for a beautiful view for our guests to wake up to.

On Sunday, the weather turned out to be perfect for a game of croquet on the back lawn.

Our son Kevin is staying with us for a while and it didn’t take long before the friendly summer game turned competitive.

With Frans emerging as the loser, I think it is only a matter of time before the rematch begins!

We have also just returned from a week long visit to Hong Kong to attend the graduation ceremony of our daughter Lisa from The University of Hong Kong.

It was a great chance to catch up with our daughter, who is currently living overseas, while also catching a glimpse of the diverse culture in Hong Kong.

Travelling on the tram and the metro was a daily event and we ate so many different kinds of food.

There were people everywhere and it seemed like everyone was trying to sell their wares.

Coming back to Thyme Out after the trip made me realise that there is a time for being on the go, just as there is a time to reflect and enjoy nature.
