A Day of Umbrellas

I haven’t seen so many umbrellas in one day!

It’s amazing how many quirky, silly and downright gorgeous umbrellas there are floating about.

I saw some with giant green leaves as well as those representing a whole range of companies in the area.

All these umbrellas came together at the annual Cross Hill Country Fair last Saturday which me, Frans and our daughter Alice went to visit.

We arrived early in the morning to discover all the volunteers doing their best to make things work like clockwork.

They showed us where to park, where to pay for our tickets and answered any questions we had about what to look for in the gardens.

The stall owners and their products appeared to be holding up bravely, even when the rain started to come down pretty hard.

It was a real experience to walk through the garden and see how many rhododendrons were in flower at this time of the year. What a great garden to visit!

All in all, it turned out to be a very enjoyable day and a great time was had by all the visitors who attended the fair.
