Open Day Celebrations

- Aug
Last Sunday’s Open Day went off without a hitch and the lovely sunny weather was proof that the weather gods were indeed on our side.
Due to a graduation party for one of my children the day before, I also had the great fortune to have all the children at home for that weekend. What a treat!
To celebrate the official opening of Thyme Out Estate, we had sent invitations to business associates, friends and neighbours to join us for the day. I prepared a light lunch around midday while refreshments were set up under an outdoor gazebo for guests to enjoy while sitting outside.
It was great to see many of the people we invited turn up and explore the newly renovated house and gardens. A lot of them commented on the beautiful views from the kitchen while the kids took advantage of the big backyard to kick around a rugby ball.
Frans and I took interested parties on tours of the surrounding gardens and we received some great feedback. Even during the winter time, especially while the daffodils are slowly making an appearance, it is still a great garden to take people around.
Today it was time to do some more pruning in the formal rose garden which is starting to look really good. With a garden like the one here at Thyme Out, there is always something to be done!
